Project: Summer Maintenance
Help our municipal gardens look their best!
The time commitment is minimal - honest!
Dear members,

We need your help to keep the gardens at Mill Creek Park and Oak Crest Cove stay lush and beautiful through the growing season. You've heard the saying a million times but it's so true - many hands make light work!
What do I need to do? Help keep the plants looking their best - deadhead, weed, and water as needed. See details below.
A few details.

Oak Crest Cove has irrigation, but if something looks like it needs water (the thyme on the left side may need some water) there is a hose and a spigot on the side of the building.

Mill Creek Park needs watering twice a week due to the new plants around the memorial boulder, so the schedule is designed for Tuesdays and Fridays.

UPDATE! Jeanne tucked a 125' hose and nozzle into the hostas near the spigot (on the men’s bathroom side of the building). They are in a gray laundry basket. So far no one has walked away with it! When done, "fold" the hose in half; then, starting from the middle--the half-way "fold"--wind it into the basket. When done, both the spigot and nozzle should be on top. If you have a question for Jeanne call or text her at (508) 317-8253‬.

Of course, if it rains on the day you sign up, or if it rained a fair amount the day before, no need to water!

What to bring - Sunscreen, a hat, gloves, whatever tools you like to use, a container to collect weeds, and perhaps something to kneel on.

If you notice an issue that needs more than you can resolve yourself - for example, an animal feasting on plants - please email Lexie Reeves, Civic Chairperson, by clicking here.

It's easy to sign up. (But please read all the way through first.)

-
First, click the Maintenance Schedule (green button) to see a current list of what days are open and taken. (A day is open if a name is not listed).

-
You will see that the Maintenance Schedule is initially set up for Tuesdays and Fridays. This is so Mill Creek gets watered twice a week at regular intervals.

-
However, if you plan to work at Oak Crest Cove feel free to select any day of the week that works for you (we'll add it to the schedule). One person working at Oak Crest each week is sufficient.

-
Now that you have a clear picture, fill in the "Sign up here" form.

-
If you can work more than one day, type the additional day(s) in the comment box. (Or submit another form.)

-
That's it! Please remember to put the dates on your calendar.

The schedule will be updated regularly, so if you need to remind yourself when you signed up it will be posted there.
Mistakes happen, we'll be in touch if we need to sort anything out.
