Annual Plant Sale
May 10, 2025
Shoppers were lined up and waiting for the sale to begin at 9am! (They look pretty happy despite the cool, mist-filled air!)

CONGRATULATIONS to raffle winner Laurie Larsen-Silva! The raffle was a huge hit. Many thanks to SGC member Lisa Sweterlitch for pulling it together.
"Day of" set up began at the crack of dawn (not quite, but it kind of felt that way, lol).
In this photo Plant Sale team leader Beth Hearn distributes signs to club members for placement at the appropriate tables.
A taste of all the preparation that went into the Plant Sale...

The crew from Upper Cape Tech, both students and teachers, were incredibly helpful. Pictured here along with garden club members as "potting day 2025" wound up!

Club president Jeanne Nichols keeping "The Diggers" informed and organized.
It was all worthwhile as the Plant Sale--the garden club's only fundraising event--was a huge success!
See you next year!

SandwichFest
October 5, 2024
"We had our first participation in SandwichFest / PorchFest, and we all agreed it was a success.... The weather was great, we had a good spot, and we spoke with lots of people. We gave away (actually ran out of) all our seed packets (250 of them) and almost all of our tri-fold flyers. A lot of people seemed genuinely interested in our club!" - Jeanne N.

Here are some of the beautiful creations made by our members!
We were also treated to mini-classes in how to press flowers and decoupage pumpkins. Thank you to our instructors and to those who contributed decorative elements. It's so fun to share and learn from each other.

Cranberry Bog Tour,
October 23, 2023
"Our group totalled 15, including club members and some guests. Patty, our guide, did a great job; she was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. It seems that cranberry farming is as iffy as any other farming (they lost a whole bog to a frost last May). We even had the chance to walk into the bog and pick a few berries. Did you know that the bog behind Scenic Roots, where we were today, is the oldest bog on the Cape?"

Cochato Nursery, September '23
"On September 10th, although a sunny day would have been vastly preferable, a diehard contingent of a couple dozen Sandwich Garden Club members made the trek to Cochato Nursery in Holbrook. Surprisingly, in spite of the rain, we had fun and learned a few things about garden design and plants. Sue and Chuck were so amazingly generous to us and their gardens are beautiful. If you want a fun day trip, they're less than 90 minutes away. Please tell them that the Sandwich Garden Club sent you." ~ Beth Hearn
